Embracing the Elements with Michelle Cordero
Sunday February 5th to Saturday February 11th, 2017
With Michelle Cordero, MFA, E-RYT 500, RPYT
Ready to step out of your daily grind and into a space where everything is taken care of for you?
Our chosen retreat location is a unique space that immerses visitors into the natural surroundings. You are both pampered and open to the elements here, which creates a beautiful balance and opportunity to appreciate the vastness and deep mystery of the elements. On this retreat you will have ample opportunity to rest into the four elements (air, fire, water, earth): listen to the waves crashing on the shore; witness infinite beautiful beach horizon as far as the eye can see, experience two yoga practices a day to strengthen your body and delight your spirit; eat amazing fresh farm to table Mexican inspired cuisine three times daily; indulge in doing nothing; lounge in a hammock; swim in the ocean; soak up the sun or adventure in an offsite excursion. Michelle will weave the theme of healing with and embodying the elements into the yoga practice, as well as using yoga and intention to restore general health and wellbeing.
On Wednesday, the group will have the opportunity to partake in a private Temazcal (Mexican sweat lodge). This will be an optional opportunity to cleanse, create a vision and set goals for your life. Begin your new year with a uniquely grounding week on the beach in Mexico with Michelle.
Our Retreat Center is located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, nestled between the drama and beauty of the Sierra Madres and the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean, this unique location’s proximity to natural wonders provides easy access to a host of activities – from swimming to hiking to scuba diving to whale and bird watching, to horseback riding and so much more!
Enjoy the luxury of an environmentally-conscious resort, with EcoLuxury accommodations each with a beachfront view and just steps away from the breath-taking blue ocean! Fall asleep and awaken to the sound of the waves, here you will truly be one with The Elements!
In addition to twice daily Yoga with Michelle, we will also enjoy exquisite farm to table meals, and the opportunity to become immersed in nature. Optional activities also include volunteering in the turtle sanctuary and giving back to the local community if that is something that calls to you! Whales and Dolphins are known to frequent this private beach in February, we will also have the opportunity to partake in baby turtle releases!
Michelle has spent the last twenty years exploring several styles of Hatha Yoga in depth: Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Yogaworks, Vinyasa Flow and Anusara. In 2002 she met Ana Forrest and was inspired by her style enough to fulfill the rigorous requirements to become a Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher. A teacher’s teacher, Michelle recently completed a month as Ana Forrest’s Lead Assistant for an intensive 200 hr teacher training; and she is finishing her third year of co-facilitating a local teacher training. Tremendously skilled at tailoring the practice to meet the needs of each individual student, Michelle will ask you to challenge yourself safely. You will learn to listen to your body and work with the breath in order to find deeper levels of flexibility and strength that may surprise you. Michelle’s vibrant personality and sense of humor add a dash of fun and playfulness into the mix..
